| 1. The Edge
Nightfall in my hall, all I can do is recall as I sit alone in the
Darkness, I confess, my part was not any less than whose I was forced to impress
It was a year ago, I left my heart behind to return, with a longing did I burn, I meant to return
And now a year has gone and ever |

Sentenced to the death by the Thing, four conspirators 'gainst our king
Led by Son of the Wolf they're just four blood brothers going over the edge
I see no other way than on, what will they say when I am gone
I want my memory to be mild, I want it to glow
Upon my pages blood is stained, this way some honour will remain
But I did cause the death of a child both you and I know
And when they came to bleed me dry, I only wonder why did I
On that Easter morn' for the love of my life not vie
Let them kill me just the same, I should have lied and played their game
It is a lesser sin than what I have done since that day
It won't go away, nothing I can say save lay down and pray
What came from within, what came from without,
I can't be about, myself do I doubt ever since that day
Sentenced to the death by the Thing, four conspirators 'gainst our king
Led by Son of the Wolf they're just four blood brothers going over the edge
New day, we all pay for our mistakes on our way; lead me up the hillside at
Daybreak, my mistake, don't shed a tear at my wake, just believe it's for my own sake
No turning back now
No tears at my wake, I'll pay for my vow
Just march up the hill till we reach the end
Transmigration calls, I long to ascend
It's for my own sake
2. Regin Smidur
Viljið tær nú lýða á
meðan eg man kvøða
Um teir ríku kongarnar
sum eg vil nú um røða
Grani bar gullið av heiði
Brá hann sinum brandi av reiði
Sjúrður vá á orminum
Grani bar gullið av heiði
Hundings synir í randargný
teir skaðan gørdu har
Eitur var í svørinum
teir bóru móti mær
Fávnir eitur ormurin
á Glitrarheiði liggur
Regin er ein góður smiður
fáum er hann dyggur
Hann var sær á leikvøllum
imillum manna herjar
Rívur upp eikikelvi stór
hann lemjir summar til heljar
Eystantil undri heyginum
ið dreingir eyka tal
Dimmur er hesin dapri dagur
niður í mold at fara
Har komm maður á vøllin fram
eingin ið hann kendi
Síðan hatt á høvdi bar
og finskan boga í hendi
Har komm maður á vøllin fram
hann vá við eggjateini
Eyga hevði hann eitt í heysi
knept var brók at beini
Ormurin er skriðin av gullinum
tað man frættast víða
Sjúrður setist á Granar bak
hann býr seg til at ríða
Grani bar gullið av heiði
Brá hann sinum brandi av reiði
Sjúrður vá á orminum
Grani bar gullið av heiði
[Translation:]
Regin Blacksmith
Will you now listen
whilst I will sing.
About the rich kings
that I will now speak of
Greyfell carried the gold from the heath
He swung his sword in wrath
Sigfried defeated the dragon
Greyfell carried the gold from the heath
Hundings sons at war
they did damage there
Poison was in the sword
they carried against me
Fafnir is the name of the dragon
that lies on the Glittering Heath
Regin is a good blacksmith
to few is he faithfull
He was on fields of play
rages amongst men
Tears up large oak trunks
he maims some to Hel
On the easten side under the mound
where heroes grow in numbers
Dark is this sad day
down in the mould to go
A man stepped forward upon the field
Noone knew him
He had a wide hat on his head
and a Finnish bow in his hand
A man stepped forward upon the field
raging with his sword
He had one eye
and his trouser legs were buttoned
The dragon has slithered of the gold
it is rumoured widely
Sigfried seats himself on Greyfells back
he prepares himself to ride
Greyfell carried the gold from the heath
He swung his sword in wrath
Sigfried defeated the dragon
Greyfell carried the gold from the heath
3. Dreams
I've learned all the lore, I've been told all the tales
Ancient legends of war are the wind in my sails
The deeds of the brave come alive in the rhyme
And the myth is my ship on the ocean of time
I can feel it is near, I can see it appear and at dawn on the
Glittering Heath I saw it all, gold lay beneath
And the Dragon did meet its bane and was slain and at Dawn at the
Valkyries hill, crossing the fire, acting her will
Was the slayer and how alive though it seems
I was there in my dreams
Somewhere in time deeds of the day
Became the rhymes we sing today
Where did we come from and where are we now
Is enough information to say where we'll go
Wherever we go we must go there from here
And we carry our load and we learn all the lore
I can feel it is near, I can see it appear and at dawn on the
Glittering Heath I saw it all, gold lay beneath
And the Dragon did meet its bane and was slain and at Dawn at the
Valkyries hill, crossing the fire, acting her will
Was the slayer and how alive though it seems
I was there in my dreams
Somewhere in time deeds of the day
Became the rhymes we sing today
In a way we have turned through the pages of
time in a rhyme, gone back as far as we may
In a day we are part of the tales of the brave
as they pave way for descendants in dreams
Somewhere in time deeds of the day
Became the rhymes we sing today
I've learned all the lore
4. The Wild Rover
I've been a wild rover for many a year
And I've spent all my money on whiskey and beer
But now I'm returning with gold in great store
And never I'll play the wild rover no more
I went to a shanty I used to frequent
And told the landlady my money were spent
I asked her for credit, she answered me "Nay"
Saying, "Customers like you I can get any day"
And it's no nay never
No nay never no more
Will I play the wild rover
No never no more
I drew from my pocket ten sovereigns bright
The landlady's eyes opened wide with delight
Saying, "I have the whiskey and wine of the best
and the words that I told you were only in jest"
And it's no nay never
No nay never no more
Will I play the wild rover
No never no more
I'll go home to my parents, tell them what I've done
And hope they will pardon their prodigal son
And if they will do as so often before
No never I'll play the wild rover no more
And it's no nay never
No nay never no more
Will I play the wild rover
No never no more
halda vit eru fræls, trælborin óspurd so
Fjakka vit øll um kirkjugarðsvøll
í oyðini høll, um fjarbláu fjøll
Tiltuskað av landnyrðings ódn, og vindurin
leikar í Miðgarði mól
Til Ásgarðs har Askurin stóð, sum træðrirnir
lívsins í lotinum har blaktraðu tá
Fjakka vit øll um kirkjugarðsvøll
í oyðini høll, um fjarbláu fjøll
og fløtur, vitandi hvat mál vit megna livandi
Og feigdin dregur liðandi, vit vála henni
Tigandi á ting
[Solo: Heri Joensen]

And whoever reigns these cliffs, did not defeat the wind
They held the tiller when the storm broke loose
Steer into the wind, shouted one and united they
pulled the tiller, but all in vain
The course has been set, carved in stone
And are we satisfied when the tale is told
And does your ship advance regardless of what you want
They fought over the rudderless tiller
And still we hold the tiller as we
Think we are free, thrallborn unconsulted so
We all drift on the graveyard field
In desolate halls, about distant mountains
Drenched and weary by the northwestern
storm, and the winds rages in Midgard
To Asgard where the Ash stood, like the
threads of life then flapped in the breeze
We all drift on the graveyard field
In desolate halls, about distant mountains
And plains, knowing what goal we are capable of living
And destiny draws slowly, we drift to meet it
We all drift on the graveyard field
In desolate halls, about distant mountains
Well aware of the course of destiny but it is
comforting that choice is before us
Countless your possible courses, but
discomforting that the choice has been made,
only one course
The course has been set, carved in stone
And are we satisfied when the tale is told
6. Ólavur Riddararós
"Hvørt skal tú riða, Ólavur mín
á lofti hongur brynja tín
Tú fer ikki at veiða tað hind
men tú fer til tína leikalind
Hvit er skjúrtan, væl er hon tvigin
í blóði verður hon av tær drigin"
Ólavur snúðist síni móður frá
"Gud gevi ikki ganga sum mær er spáad"
Ungir kallar, kátir kallar, gangið upp á gólv
dansið lystilig
Ólavur ríður eftir bjørgunum fram
-kol og smiður við
fann hann upp á eitt álvarann
Út kom eitt tað álvafljóð
flættað hár á herðar dró
"Ver vælkomin Ólavur Riddararós
tú gakk í dans og kvøð fyri oss"
"Tú tarvt ikki flætta títt hár fyri meg
eg eri ikki komin at biðja teg
[Solo: Heri Joensen]
Eg kann ikki meira hjá álvum vera
í morgin lati eg mítt brúdleyp gera"
"Hvat heldur vilt tú sjey vetur liggja á strá
ella vilt tú í morgin til moldar gá"
Hon skonti honum í drykkjuhorn
har fór í tað eiturkorn
Ólavur studdist við saðilboga
-kol og smiður við
hann kysti tá moy av lítlum huga
Ungir kallar, kátir kallar, gangið upp á gólv
dansið lystilig
[Translation:]
Olaf Knightrose
"Where are you going, Olaf
your armour hangs in the attic
You are not going to hunt for deer
you are going to your mistress
White is your shirt, well has it been washed
It will be taken of you in blood"
Olav turned away from his mother
"God grant that it does not go as it has been
foretold"
Young lads, happy lads, step up on the floor
dance merrily
Olaf rides along the mountains
-with coal and smith
He came upon an elven house
Out came an elven maiden
Plaided hair on shoulders lay
"Be welcome Olaf Knightrose
come to the dance and sing for us"
"You need not plaid your hair for me
I have not come to ask for you
I can no longer stay with the elves
for tomorrow I will wed"
"What would you rather, lie ill for seven winters
or be buried tomorrow"
She filled him a drinkinghorn
in it went a grain of poison
Olaf leaned on the saddlebow
-with coal and smith
as he reluctantly kissed the maiden
Young lads, happy lads, step up on the floor
dance merrily
7. Rainbow Warrior
From the fields of concrete slabs, towers of
stone. 'cross an ocean before his bow
Came the haggard Warrior all clad in rust of
the Rainbow to tell us how
Our ways unchanged for centuries do dismay
concrete hearts
Wake emotions perfect for his confidence tricks
And though we may be human we are still animals
Weakling of the food chain, the only way
that I see is to
Curse the weak link, What's out
Come your down fall, Lights out
May your ship sink, Rainbow Warrior floats
no more, there are no Lights on
That obtrusive creep all, What's on
By the fields of good and green, mountains of
home, in an ocean beneath the sun
Stood the haggard Warrior, now his crusade,
fame and fortune it had begun
So holier than thou art, all marine mammals friend
Change your evil ways now or with terror I strike
Why can't you do like we do, pay your way
'round the blood
When it's on the table you won't know
whence it came, I say
Curse the weak link, What's out
Come your down fall, Lights out
May your ship sink, Rainbow Warrior floats
no more, there are no Lights on
That obtrusive creep all, What's on
To the fields of concrete slabs, towers of
stone. 'cross an ocean behind his stern
Went the haggard Warrior all clad in rust of
the Rainbow, when will they learn
That nature is against them, with that all
stands and falls
Weakling of the food chain, the only way
that I see is to
Curse the weak link, What's out
Come your down fall, Lights out
May your ship sink, Rainbow Warrior floats
no more, there are no Lights on
That obtrusive creep all, What's on
8. Ramund Hin Unge
Ramund var sig en bedre mand
om han havde bedre klæder
Dronningen gav hannem klæder på stand
af blågarn, bast og læder
"Sådant vil jeg ikke ha," sagde Ramund.
"Sådant står mig ikke bra," sagde Ramund hin unge
Ramund gik sig ved salten søstrand
der så han syv jætter stande
"Tager jeg Ramund på min mindste hånd
og kaster ham langt fra lande"
"Det gør ikke ene du," sagde Ramund
"I må komme alle syv," sagde Ramund hin unge
"Alt står jeg her endnu," sagde Ramund hin unge
at hovedet fløj femten mile
"Jeg mente den ej bed," sagde Ramund
"Dog rinder blodet ned," sagde Ramund hin unge
[Translation:]
The Young Raymond
"Raymond was a better man
if he was better clad"
The queen gave him fine clothes
of blueyarn, bast and leather
"I do not want such," said Raymond
"It does not suit me," said the yound Raymond
Raymond walked along the salty beach
There he saw seven giants standing
"I will take Raymond on my smallest hand.
And throw him far offshore"
"You will not do that alone," said Raymond
"You must come all seven of you," said the young
Raymond
Raymond took his dear sword
The one he called the red Dimling
He hew the seven giants simultaneously
So that they bled to death
"There they lie, all seven of them," said Raymond
"And I still stand here," said the young Raymond
The Emperor looked out the window
In fright and with a sad face
"Who is that man that stands in the yard
and laughs so terribly"
"It is I, and I would like," said Raymond
"To challenge you to fight," said the young Raymond
Raymond took his large knife
The one he called the dear Dimling
He took the Emperor's Life
So that the head flew fifteen miles
"I thought it was blunt,- said Raymond
"And yet the blood flows,- said the yound Raymond
9. Alive
Essence, divergence, freedom, dependence
where to belong to, I'm longing, belongings
what to relate to, our nations try, my
patience dry, relations lie that
This is our essence, there's no way behind the
back wall of us all, and there's no way round the
side walls of mind halls, hide behind the curtains
thick folds and grow old, never know for certain
how things would be if you were to be free
and how high you could fly if you'd really try
Go tell the world we're coming, just a matter
of belief and space and time
Till were gonna ride the wind of changes, sail
the seas of this immense millennium
Now sharpen your old axes, shine your
armours and your sword of sight and sound
My warriors, let's go down together, time will
tell us whether we will do or die
Our destiny is calling, calling, falling
Falling off the world and down we're hurled
you know the word
There's no use in hiding, destiny will find you
Running or fighting, it's always right behind you
how things would be if you were to be free
and how high you could fly if you'd really try
10. Eric The Red
Why I take refuge here, my father was
outlawed from the old land in east
A story of bloodshed and I too was outlawed,
now I take refuge here
What brings you here my friend, what brings
you north to where hell is of ice
South from the sand dunes where hell is of
fire, why have you come so far
Anywhere, you don't care where you
Go as long as there are faithless you can
make believe need help
And that you have the cure, of your
intentions, I'm sure
I can't bring it all to reason you've
convinced these people that all
Their ancestors were wrong, disoriented they
do not know where they belong
Like a virus you'll go on, and when I'm dead and gone
Both sides waging war will be for one true divinity
Like a virus you'll go on, and when I'm dead and gone
Both sides waging war will be raging in the
name of one true divinity
This I don't understand, why this perverted
superhuman ideal
So we are born to nothing but torture and
torment, that, I don't understand
Clearly I see the end, I pray that the embers
will persist from my faith
Clearly I'm outnumbered, allegedly outdated,
since your arrival here.
Anywhere, you don't care where you
Go as long as there are faithless you can
make believe need help
And that you have the cure, of your
intentions, I'm sure
I can't bring it all to reason you've
convinced these people that all
Their ancestors were wrong, disoriented they
do not know where they belong
Like a virus you'll go on, and when I'm dead and gone
Both sides waging war will be for one true divinity
Just convert the whole wide world, into the
abyss we are hurled
Sentenced come end of the world, spare me
your selfrighteous word
